Sam's Cafe, Paharganj

Sam's cafe is probably the most talked about cafe around Paharganj where tourists from all over the world come and stay as escape from the expensive five star hotel stays.

The lengths with which this particular cafe is talked about obviously made it to my must-visit-place list. Having heard and read so much about the experiences and food reviews I too was ready to make every possible effort to be here on one April afternoon. To break the long story short, there was nothing extraordinary that I felt when I finally made it to this place.

Apologies for the less of food images here. The visual of the cold coffee that appeared was too bad. (Taste is another story) To get the best out of our visit to the much talked about rooftop cafe- we ordered a bottle of Pepsi and made up for the efforts.

Please don't go there expecting amazing food. (Your man would cook better- Don't get me wrong- I am speaking of the men who don't cook anything more than maggi. They can make a better pizza!) If you still want to be here, please make up your mind not to expect much. This place is perfect to enjoy view and the open rooftop air along with your own thoughts or chit-chat over chai/coke with friend; or just pick a book and smile while flipping the pages...
Live an isolate life for a while and smile.
But if you are really hungry, this is definitely not the place to be.

Menu at Sen5es, Pullman Hotel

Wedding section : Skeptical

Weddings! Well they are pretty much EVERYWHERE around ! Everyone has been visiting, everyone has been invited, everyone has been talking about them, everyone is taking wedding selfie ... and everyone is getting married too ! Well, my readers are definitely my age; and being in 20s simply means stumbling upon a close friend or a distant one getting married, the worst however is watching your crush getting married too ! (yeah that feeling) .. Well, weddings is one freak fun heck of a time for the ones visiting, however a stressful time full of bundled emotions for those organizing it (let's keep the feelings of the ones getting married private to them! God! Only they know what is happening to their lives).

Well all of this aside, it's the time of the year when two of my best friends are getting married. I have a family size of people who need a location that accommodates 1000 guests for a wedding. Insane! This obviously means I see a lot of weddings one after the other every season (followed up with endless shopping days, budget management, planning how to safely repeat the outfit, evenings spent in dance practices, stories of joota churana/chupana, coffee conversations with cousins while the couple had pheras in those cold winter nights and a lot more!), I am surrounded by the wonderful feeling of a baby news coming over (followed up with visiting them, shopping for their tiny delicate frames and absolute care and laughing when they kicked with their soft tiny feet and sleep holding your finger with their entire hand.)

Evoke your SEN5ES at Pullman Hotel

My love for food is one of those that keeps coming back to me (well it never goes, I only pretend it isn't there in those days of attempts to shed a few kilos off me). For a person like me ( I am most definite there are many awesome foodies out there), any opportunity to experiment with food and fill our souls with absolute taste fusion comes as a win-win situation!
Just when I was wondering to different cafes and sharing my experiences about it all, I got this opportunity to experience the live kitchen setting at the Pullman Gurgaon Central Park to review their buffet at it's all day dining restaurant Sen5es.

Why is it called SEN5ES you might ask?- A visual delight for the eyes; the bespoke music, styled to suit the mood of the day, the alluring aroma of food wafting through the restaurant, authentic & delectable world cuisine; and the personal touch of a Pullman Person, all combine to bring to you an indulgent experience! That explains it all.
And to add to the awesomeness - the stylishly designed live cooking stations - comprising of a wood burning pizza oven, the rare Chinese duck oven, tandoor and grill station, ice cream teppanyaki, and sauté stations - are encompassed with fire and an enchanting aroma that engage the guests!

The table wear adds perfect element to the restaurant's setting of fine taste.

Ah! Who doesn't love pizza when it is made fresh right infront! LIVE kitchens are so awesome! Also, you can get your pizza customized. Time for some extra cheese eh?

Wood fired oven pizzas ! (love)

Freshly baked breads right out of the oven.

Magical

Coming Up Soon

Charms from the nawabs, some borrowed secrets from the world of whites (Oh how much I want to say The White Queen), Perfect collection for ...... (Wait for it!)

Sometimes your first picture is your favorite! As a photographer, the key is to look around and observe before releasing the shutter to a burst mode. I believe I was well prepared and observed enough through the preparations (and had my super-power-nap!) to get it right. I am practicing the ART of limited frames and I guess the baby steps are marveling slowly.

I promise to put more on blog from this series very soon!

Cook Everyday Pasta : White Sauce

PASTA !

I did a post four years back on pasta-making-photo-series on Facebook (instant HIT no doubt!)
Cooking has been my love, which obviously comes from the fact that I love food and constantly need to do some experiments in bringing out unique taste every time. This particular pasta which I am posting was evolved over few beginning years and once achieved, it has been cooked just the same since one whole decade!
This pasta is what I cook on my first (well a lot of first occasions since school mischief!)
Since I love vegetables, I have added a lot of them. My family loves mushrooms, olives and broccoli so they go into the pan for saute before making the white sauce, however I was a tad too lazy to include them. You can add as many vegetables as you wish to or chuck all of them off !

One perfect date with Pizza and Photography

Pizza has always been my love. So when my friend planned to take ahead his passion for portraits and grace the opportunity to photograph people in their passions and obsessions I stepped in with a challenge for him to portray me with my love for veggies, especially olives and that crunchy pizza base oozing with cheese and the perfect flavor of the herbs.

Well the results are right here!
