Reading completes the journey...

Several it may seem as we are missing something. Picking up a book opens up all the vast dimensions we have never ever even thought of. Fairy tales are just one part of fiction that helps to explore a whole new world of imaginations. Yet once you read a book, the realization always creep in of how we would have been incomplete without the wonderful book.

This picture was taken during my trip to Mashobra, a hill station an hour drive ahead of Shimla.
The view from my room was breathtaking (and breathtaking is an understatement)
The view of morning rising sun, rain, clouds racing to other end of valley, thunder lighting and rainbows and moon (not in that order ofcourse!) made this one of the most perfect vacations I have had ever had!

Bridal Lehenga : Document Series

I got a call from Neha saying she has an amazing idea for an article for Airports India magazine which publishes some really new and out-of-the-box articles.
The moment she mentioned about photo-series on The Making of a Bridal Lehenga - it was my dream come true !
Documenting has been one of the most interesting genre in photography that I am truly passionate about (Another reason why I love weddings too maybe).
Being able to document the story of what really goes behind creating something that can mean soo much to someone truly excites me. (Many of you might be aware of the Backstage Diaries 'series' shot by me at WIFW 3 times in a row) .. so the love continues.
I have seen my mom keeping her wedding lehenga as treasure. And I know I am going to do the same. Infact, I am going to have a separate space in my home that has little of everything that was a part of my wedding day.

Want to know what goes behind making a bridal lehenga... above all... want to know what really goes in a bride's mind all the while ?

Summer Time : Save The Date (Surbhi&Kashish)

Surbhi & Kashish

We met at one of my favorite local cafe which instantly became a favorite for this couple too ! (Perks of having people around who truly love food!)
Moving ahead, the shoot was scheduled (most uncertainly) on the hottest day in Delhi in 62 years. With 5 bottles of water, two bottles of chilled coke, endless glasses of local nimbu paani, ice-creams and 5 Naariyal Pani (Coconut water) we completed the shoot on a super exhaustive yet happy note!

How did we come up with the concept?
Well this couple told me about their long drive dates where they sat and drank naariyal pani over the endless conversations where they fell in love deeper everyday *Light Bulb* .
It added to the awesomeness when shooting with Naariyal Paani genuinely made sense. Haven't I been saying how amazing life is ?

Golden Swan Lake Collection { ARTiara }

The Golden Swan Lake

Folklores and folktales have been an integral part of every culture since ages. When it comes to Indian folk tales, the country of diverse religions, languages and cultures has a complete range of tales and short stories and Jataka tales come among this wide range of folklores. These luminous fables of ‘Jataka’ (based in 300 B.C.) are written for the mankind to impart values of self-sacrifice, morality and honesty.

This collection is inspired by the Jataka tales concerning the previous lives of Bodhisattva where swans and lotuses played an essential soulful part in the stories.

Lotus is a symbol of purity, spontaneous, divine birth and fortune; it rises and blooms above the murk just as a soul enlightens above all the dark murk and emerges to achieve nirvana. Swans that are considered one of the most beautiful birds are a symbol of purity, innocence and liberty.

This collection comes alive with the same symbolism; with the soft pastel tones, and a tinge of brights, lotus petal patterns, and soft soothing textures. My muse is that free swan; the awakened bird that is a carefree soul and has the courage to spread wings and follow her dreams.

Crazy head couple - Sumeet and Neha

Some people are so wonderful and crazy at the same time that you just can't help but be crazy and totally be a lost head around them !
These two people are not just friends but also mentors and there is a lot on the learning from them..

Early on a not so fine rainy monday I headed to meet these two madly in love engaged people.. Sumeet was landing from Mumbai after his advance raksha bandan celebrations coz he would be in Delhi on the special day.
A blend of meeting and a catch up time followed by snapshots and a crazy video (oh! You'll see it soon - if at all I would be able to complete editing it! :P )
Here on my blog you'll see many more crazy pictures of these guys !
